Sonic’s K – 6 Dance Programs are designed to achieve the New South Wales Board of Studies Syllabus Objectives and Outcomes.
Implementing the use of locomotor and non-locomotor movement sequences, the elements of dance, composition and various dance styles, in an engaging and enjoyable form for both boys and girls. Sonic’s skill based exercises are designed to develop proficiency, musicality, creativity, coordination, confidence and expression through physical activity.
Early Stage 1
Kindergarten
The Early Stage 1 Programs are designed to develop basic locomotor and non-locomotor movement skills. Simultaneously developing balance, coordination, confidence in expression and rhythm. Sonic’s programs incorporate the use of energetic music, mime and physical choreography to stimulate students and assist motor skill development.

Stage 1
Years 1 & 2
In our Stage 1 Programs, Sonic implements simple and entertaining dance combinations, choreographed specifically for the students age and developmental stage. Individual and partner dance is included within these programs, as students explore relationships in space, the use of level, sequencing, direction, timing and tempo. Basic movement principles including patterns, locomotor and non-locomotor sequences, repetition and dynamics are also fundamental elements incorporated within our programs

Stage 2
Years 3 & 4
In our Stage 2 Programs, Sonic implements additional complexity and skill in choreography. Outcomes are designed to challenge development and skill level, while still being attainable for students. Individual and partner dance is included within these programs, as students explore relationships in space, the use of level, sequencing, structure, direction and timing. Composition structure, including transitions, sequences and compositional techniques, are also fundamental elements incorporated within our styalised dance programs.

Sonic’s Stage 3 Dance Programs are designed to develop style and movement technique through performing, composing and appreciating dance. Students are offered the opportunity to explore dance as an artform, while improving their physical fitness, confidence, communication skills and skill level.

Sonic’s passionate and skilful staff also offers their choreographic talents for School Dance Ensembles, working towards eisteddfods, local festivals, school presentation nights or other shows.
The Sonic staff strives to cultivate a supportive and engaging classroom environment, involving students with our fun and vibrant choreography, professionally choreographed for each learning stage. The use of modern music, professionalism, positive energy, organisation and love of performance, enable Sonic’s creation of entertaining performances that engage both class participants and audiences.
